Xbox says Hela: Of Mice & Magic will launch on December 1, 2026, and join Game Pass on day one.
Forests, meadows and wetlands inspired by Northern Sweden provide the setting for ingredient gathering, according to Xbox. Players take the role of mouse familiars helping a witch, with collected plants and magical ingredients returning to her cottage for brewing.
At the cauldron, recipes call for ordered actions alongside their ingredients. Xbox describes brewing as an interactive activity in which each recipe has different instructions and steps to perform, rather than simply choosing an item from a crafting menu.
New exploration options come from Remedies, the magical tools described by Xbox. They affect traversal, puzzles, obstacles and interactions between players. As the collection expands, a route that seemed beyond reach might open up, giving familiar surroundings new possibilities.
For players choosing how to tackle the adventure, Xbox lists solo play, local split-screen with a friend, and online co-op supporting up to four players. Solo players can use the Shade System to make magical copies of themselves for puzzles and interactions with the world.
