Steam's Preview/Beta client update adds new Steam Input configuration views, including a timeline for button combinations.
For games using the Steam Input API, the configurator now offers an action-led view: it lists game actions alongside their bindings. That reverses the input-to-action presentation described in the release notes, alongside a streamlined binding interface.
A separate multi-binding page deals with button combinations. It shows command outputs on a timeline together with their settings, giving this part of the configurator a different presentation from the new action-and-binding list.
Other Steam Input changes add the ability to invert button chord bindings. The update also fixes a labelling problem: some older, unnamed Virtual Menus appeared as "Create Virtual Menu" in certain views.
Big Picture Mode gains keyboard glyphs in its footer when controlled with a mouse and keyboard. These notes cover the Preview/Beta channel; they also list a Night Mode fix under SteamRT3 Experimental Beta and an EULA-acceptance fix for Remote Play.
